Last Weekend findsGot out last weekend and made a few finds. David took us to a site that I didn't think there would be much at. Well he proved me wrong once again! From now on if he thinks it has potential I will not even question it. I think he can smell the relics in the ground. There could be more finds at this location, but the grass was very high and hard to hunt. Maybe as the cold sets in more area will be available to hunt in the future.
1850's English imported Civilian button and General Service Union button thats in sad condition.
Rest of the finds. The octagonal object is screaming barrel, but I've never seen on that looks like this. It's threaded at the top and threaded at the end away from the pic. It's interesting anyway.

Yep... Me and Dave walked all over the 300 acre farm while you stayed right there at the gate and found all the stuff!
Good finds though! I wonder what's in the shield, if anything, of the eagle button that is about to fall apart... Maybe take a wet Q-tip and lightly wipe away the dirt?

It's just a plain GS shield I would have been really sad if there was a A,C,I,D or R on there.

Based on our finds, probably would have been a Cavalry if it wasn't a regular shield.
Still, that button holds just as much of importance as does any other button!
