Hey Buddy

You won't be able to find a decent machine for that price.  I would seriously wait until you have enough funds for a decent beginner machine.  If you are looking for a White's Classic, simply go to ebay and type in the search box "Whites Classic Detector".  That will bring up all the listings available!

Here is a Classic I-

To be honest with you a $60 detector isn't going to get you much.
I would just wait until you have more funds to put into it. Buying a detector is
like buying anything you pay for what you get. Now don't get me wrong you can get some good deals sometimes, but you have to wait and look around. Would you rather throw $60 away or wait until you have $140 more and get something you will be happy with? Buy a name brand detector that comes with a good warranty! Try looking at used White's machines, Garrett ACE150, Fisher F2 and Tesoro Compadre. These are units that can be had for $200 or so and will get you started.

The one Ian showed you will work just fine.  Very Happy

I must have been typing that post when he was posting his. I'm a big fan of White's and would recommend White's products first. I was just giving you a few more options to look at.

where can i get the batterries for it i need AA alkaline ones for it.
Ian

It should come with a tray that the AA batteries fit in.  It will take 8.

At my Publix Grocery store here in Columbia, you can buy 4 rechargable AA's with a charger for 9 bucks!  20 bucks for a rechargable setup!!  Can't beat that!
