good deal?i believe im going with the whites classic SL is this a good choice for my first machine?

That is an excellent choice for your first machine. I'm sure you'll love it!
As soon as you get it, you should take it outside, throw some coins out on the ground(even bury some at around 5-8 inches) and see how your machine responds to them.
