In Lagrange Tn, back when I started hunting, and I still have no idea what it is. It was dug in the same location I was finding .69 cal minie's and the parts of oil lamps that the wick runs through, along with all sorts of other things including a hinge that was probably 2' across. I have no idea what it is, but appears to be some sort of buckle. If you need more views, let me know. HH Joe

Could be a part of a buckle...I'm sure one of these guys can be more accurate...

I wish I could claim them! I took the picture off a site to show you that the piece your trying to get identified may be a piece of a buckle...Hope it helps..
