I found this C.S.A. button Wednesday afternoon.  I had placed the button in a cup of water for cleaning, but couldn't wait to take a pic and share!

Here are a few more things I've found from the same camp...

Bit Boss ONE

Bit Boss TWO

Sling Buckle ONE

Sling Buckle TWO

Found several different brass buckles...this one was small...Penny there for size...

Belt Plate Keeper ONE...DON'T HAVE A PICTURE OF THE SECOND ONE YET!

My little woman

Cool Little Buckle of Sorts

Wedding Band with inscription on the inside

Daddy found this button...

he also found this scabbard tip...

We have also probably found over 150-200 bullets all together on this site, a few button backs, another button unreadable by age and environment, a soldiers ID badge, carved bulltets, hammered bullets, pieces of spurs, pieces of guns, and a lot more....I would post more pics, but it is getting late and I need to be in bed...lol

We found the site about a month ago and have hit it at least twice a week ever since....It has been the best site I have found...

Thanks for looking!

Go back to were you found the sling buckles, there should be another bat wing and possibly two belt adjusters there as well. If the hole rig is there there should also be two iron swivel hooks one for each belt. I would also go back and dig every thing were you found the belt keepers, at least within a ten to fourteen foot radious. Looks as though you have a lot of camp drops or re-supply area were stuff was stripped and dropped.
Sorry, I would have to say you ID badge is more like a RR baggage tag or hotel tag of the sort. But definetely not an ID badge. You and your Dad have got a very nice site and I would slow way down and dig almost every signal in the area your finding the plates. You also got a nice keg spiqout that looks to be complete. Once again congrats on an Awsome post and some killer relics! HH, Erle from Va.

Hey thanks.  I've had some folks look at the badge and they said that it was definately an ID badge...It says "to identify me", and "notify my family", and it is a life insurance company's name on it...so I figure that it is some sort of ID tag....No matter what it is...it is still a very cool find...I'll take ten more of them if they keep letting me dig them!  Very Happy

It's not necessarily an ID badge.  But, it is a tag for the Insurance Company to ID the person who is wearing it.  Insurance companies started using these around the 1920s.
