Got out for a bit Saturday. DrDave lined up a 75 acre farm us to hunt. The farm was great! Rolling hills, woods, ponds and springs. What more could you want. I didn't find much other than a cool spoon and silver plated knife, but DrDave and Ian pulled out a few buttons and cool stuff.

Sunday me and Ian hit a Confederate camp we all have hunted before. I managed to pull a few good relics out of it Sunday.

First finds for the day was these little dirt covered buttons. Both buttons found about 5" apart in two different holes. Wonder what they are?

I actually dug a partial US plate! It's funny because I didn't notice what it was a first. It wasn't until we took a small break and looked over our finds a bit. The part I dug was folded up with no lead remaining. I was able to straighten it out a bit. Pleae ignore the dates in these pics. The camera I usually take pics with is taking a dirt nap currently. Having to use the backup that I can't remember how to use. Very Happy

Pic of the overall finds.

Pic of the buttons all cleaned up. I was really happy with how much gilt they had. I took my time cleaning them and they came out great!

Overall a great hunt that was fun as usual. I've been joking with Ian about
a Union curse I have. You put me in a Confederate camp and I will pull every Union relic there is out. Especially if it has an eagle on it. Laughing Ian found some good stuff, but I will let him tell you about it.

Have you seen them?
Nice digs bud, I recently dug a skin to a plate too. I'll have to post it a little later. Your going to have to find a lucky horse shoe and carry it around in your pocket.
I had a diggin buddy who would walk into a new field were 10 to 20 peolple have been diggin, and the first or second signal he would get would be a plate. Some people just have the majic touch my friend! HH, Erle from Va.
